Harman Kardon HTFS 2 Black Lacquer Speaker Floor Stands Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I ordered 4 of these for each of my main channel speakers. The bases are very heavy and will keep the speakers steady.

It comes with floor studs for either hard wood or carpet. The carpet ones are pretty neat little cleats that stick into the carpet to give it even more stability. The hard floor studs are some little rubber nubs.

The base of the stand is made of aluminum it seems, with a high gloss paint job that matches the speakers surprisingly well. All very modern looking.

I'd def. recommend these for your HKTS systeam.

Crystal Clear Universal 2D Stereo Surround Sound System - Black Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I made the mistake of thinking this would be a good deal, so I bought it.These speakers sound worse than my clock radio. When I tried to call and express my dissatisfaction, no one comes to the phone, and when they do, they say they'll call back and never do.I reviewed this product once before, and THEN they emailed me.They offered me $15 in credit IF I agreed to REMOVE MY REVIEW!!Clearly, they don't want anyone to know how cheap this system is.I told them I'd remove it if they gave me a refund.Never heard back from them at all.I've thrown the system away.I couldn't even justify the space they take up in my house.

4 Black Deluxe Universal Speaker Mounts / Brackets for Walls and Ceilings 1YQ Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)These mounts work great if used properly.I used them to mount front and rear surround Definitive Pro Cinema speakers weighing 3lbs each.If you plan on mounting bookshelf or other speakers that weigh over 6 lbs I would choose a different style mount. The mounts were easy to install offer unlimited directional positioning of speakers and are attractive. The only complaint I have is with the dry wall anchors that come with the mounts.Go to Lowes or Home Depot and purchase four #8 Wall Driller nylon anchors ($1.50) to use on the top screw hole. Use the screws that come with the mounts. The anchors that come with the mounts work fine for the bottom screws. All they do is keep mounts from moving sideways. If the anchors had not been a problem I would rate the mounts 5 star.

Wharfedale MovieStar 70 Surround Sound Speaker System (Beech) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I wanted a home theater speaker system, that was good with movies and music too! I listened to Polk 6700 speakers (very good) JBL 160 (nice) Energy 5.2 (very nice) Athena (ok+) and Wharfedale Movie Star 70's (awesome)! The biggest difference was the music end of the spectrum! All of the mentioned systems were very good to excellent for movie/tv viewing, but ranged from good, to adequate, to so-so on music! Except the Wharfedales, which were excellent for theater use, and awesome on music, probably due to the fact they are a bit larger than most! No tubby lower midrange, or ear bleeding, thin highs! Bass was rendered very well too! A great value, and they are decor freindly.

Product Description:
Wharfedale's Moviestar 70 subwoofer-satellite speaker system offers a no-compromise solution for those who seek a small, tidy loudspeaker package, but refuse to tolerate the inadequate sound traditionally found in such systems. The Moviestar 70 combines chic retro styling in a package of loudspeakers with modest dimensions. But despite their diminutive size, these stars of the silver screen pack plenty of punch when it comes to home cinema. Speakers as small as these are made possible by the system's powered subwoofer, which fills in the bass below about 80 Hz. Further, the subwoofer is still effective when hidden from view.
The package includes all the speakers you need. The four satellites are front-ported, single-way units that dispense with crossovers, which can cause phase and frequency problems in two-way and three-way speakers. The frequency-matched subwoofer has all the features you'd expect of any subwoofer, such as phase and crossover adjustment. All fixings are supplied to allow wall or ceiling mounting, and plenty of cable is included for easy installation.
What's in the Box
Four satellite speakers, center channel speaker, subwoofer, speaker cable, mounting brackets, user's manual.

Sony SAVE325 6-Piece Speaker System Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)When I bought this system in April I had some fears that the speakers would die or the sound would be low or scratchy.I was wrong on all accounts and this little system blew away my expectations.
All I had to do was toss Sony's speaker cable and replace them with Monster cables and the sound was very strong.I tested out just how loud they could go using Gladiator with DTS they handled unhumanly loud volume and bass with no distortion.
If you have a small living room/den, or you're living in an apartment and you want to get into the home theater scene without going broke then this is the system for you.

These particular ones are just as what they look to be. No extra accessories if you thought they were included.
it's just those two box speakers. Plus for sound input you have to use two wires for each speaker. So know what you are getiing beforehand. Am trying to return them b'se i wanted plug and play. I have two spend more time looking for connectors now.!!

Harman/kardon HKTS 11 - 5.1-channel home theater speaker system Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)The HKTS-11's are almost identical to the newer and more expensive hkts-18's in every way.Why pay more for the same thing? If you are looking to spend under 600 bucks on a surround sound system including the reviver, then you have two options. One, buy a pre-packaged HTIB (home theatre in the box. Two, buy a separate receiver and then add your own speakers.I chose to do the second. For the same price, I bought a real component receiver and then added these speakers and sub woofer to it.Result?Twice the flexibility, power, and quality for the same price as the nicest HTIB out there from Best Buy or any big box store. The speakers are handsome and clear. The sub woofer is thumping!I highly suggest this package!!!Amozon and JandR equaled the same quick shipping!

BTW, the speakers came with wall mounting brackets and speaker cable. The speakers are black even though the box pictures silver.

Sanus Systems Wms5-S Wall Or Ceiling Speaker Mounts (Silver, 5-Pk) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I needed to hang 2 different size speakers for my system (onkyo sr800). The small speaker only weighed 2.5lbs and I did not doubt that it would work fine. The bigger speakers weigh 8.5lbs and are big in size (6-3/16" x 17-1/16" x 7-5/8"). Since the speakers are tall and up high on the wall, I needed to be able to downtilt the speakers a lot. The keyhole mount is at the top of the speaker, so the more you want to downtilt the more you have to get the top of the speaker away from the wall. I was afraid that using the large speaker mount extension would start to bend with the weight of the speakers.
No Problem at all!! The smaller rear speakers are not using the extra extension peice but have enough downtilt to get them pointed where its needed. The larger front speakers are using the full extension and they are very stable. Mounts were super easy to install, customize and configure for the desired downtilts.
For $40 delivered, you wont find a less expensive 5-pack mounts with this quality. My only regret is that I have a 7.1 system with the center chan over the TV, so I have 6 speakers tha that need this mount. I need 1 more mount but buying a single is almost as expensive as buying the 5-pack :(

Before I purchased, I called Sanus to talk about the 8 lbs max rating for these mounts versus the 8.5 lbs for my speakers. The Sanus tech said that I would not be a problem since the mounts are tested 3-4 times that weight...He assured me it would not be a prob. Very helpful and I was able to get through to the cust service very quickly.

Acoustic Research ARHC6 6-Piece Home Theater Speaker System Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)The HC6 5.1 speaker set put out some detailed sound and tight bass that can get low.The speakers are enclosed in a piano black casing and seem like they belong in a similarly elegant home (or mansion for that matter). The sub puts out some surprisingly powerful and low bass for its size. The system sounds just as good with music as it does with home theatre sound. The HC6 was produced when Acoustic Research was in its prime, unfortunately this set is no longer produced. If you can get yout hands on a set, you'll see that the HC6 blows away Bose and Polk systems costing twice as much.

Click Here to see more reviews about: Acoustic Research ARHC6 6-Piece Home Theater Speaker System

Product Description:
A one-step solution for audiophiles looking to boost their home theater performance, this Acoustic Research six-piece speaker system delivers high-quality surround sound at an affordable price. The system consists of four two-way ported satellite speakers, each with 3.5-inch woofers and 1-inch tweeters; a center (dialogue) two-way sealed speaker with dual 4-inch woofers and a 1-inch tweeter; and a 100-watt front-firing subwoofer with an 8-inch long-throw woofer. The matching satellites, which measure 5.25 inches wide and 7.75 inches tall, are compact enough to fit on a bookshelf or portable speaker stands, yet big enough to supply the audio oomph that movie fans have come to expect. Acoustic Research recommends pairing the system with an amplifier that supports from 25 watts to 100 watts per channel, which should meet the specifications of most surround receivers.
Once connected, the speakers deliver a dramatic audio range, with a frequency response of 80 Hz to 20 kHz through the satellite and center speakers and 32 to 150 Hz through the subwoofer--enough to give explosions a thunderous bombast and bird chirps a sweet, crisp resonance. Unlike many speaker systems, the ARHC6 does not include speaker cables that connect to its corrosion-resistant gold-plated terminals. However, this allows listeners to buy higher-end cables that match their listening needs, which "in the box" cables rarely do. The speakers are also magnetically shielded to prevent interference when located near a TV.
What's in the Box
Four satellite speakers, center channel speaker, subwoofer, AC adapter (for subwoofer), user's manual.

Sony SS-CR3000 Center and Rear Channel Speaker Package Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I'm a little chagrined I waited so long to immerse myself in the world of 5.1 surround sound.

Most websites on the subject will tell you to get all of your speakers from the same brand, so the harmonics are all cousins of each other. Well, with Bose bookshelf speakers, the accompanying surround speakers would have been another grand, so I decided to bottom end with Sony.

These little puppies are weird in that you can't take the mesh covers off to spock the look of the speaker diaphragms, but that's the only weird thing. They ship with the tiniest capellini-sized speaker wire you can imagine, which helps you enjoy your new sound straight out of the box until you can get some more decent sized wire.

For a starter kit, these are thoroughly sufficient, plus, they're sleek and unobtrusive. If you haven't experienced surround sound anywhere but the theaters, get these babies and rent Apocalypse Now, or any of the Bourne movies. (Or better yet, watch the dust storm episode from the first season of Carnivale--you'll quite literally be blown away.)

Also, you'll need a digital optical cable from your DVD player to your receiver; otherwise the Dolby surround won't work.
