(More customer reviews)I ordered 4 of these for each of my main channel speakers. The bases are very heavy and will keep the speakers steady.

It comes with floor studs for either hard wood or carpet. The carpet ones are pretty neat little cleats that stick into the carpet to give it even more stability.The hard floor studs are some little rubber nubs.

The base of the stand is made of aluminum it seems, with a high gloss paint job that matches the speakers surprisingly well. All very modern looking.

I'd def. recommend these for your HKTS systeam.

One word I could match to review of HKTS-14. After extensive research and numerous audio test of various HT speakers I zeroed in for HKTS-14 from Harman/Kardon. Key factors I used to select the systems are as follows:

1.Music performance
2.Substantial Bass response
3.If not too much near high power
4.Compact for my apartment living
5.Crisp high end music reproducing capability especially from guitar, sitar
6.Budget conscious and longterm investment
7.Proven industry name
8.Easy setup & calibration
9.Technical Support

In all aspects HKTS-14 stood out. At first I used my own samples of few songs; music excepts and took it to various showrooms to play.I tested it on Polk, Bose, JBL 300.7/200.7, Micraand HKTS-14. These are my observations

Polk -Excellent satellite speakers, but default bass module didn't impress, need to upgrade to other polk sub which are quite expensive when adding both prices and setup is too confusing.
Bose -Forget about it, sales men did not like putting my CD and when I finally made him he wouldn't pay much attention or help me in adjusting any settings. Only thing he allowed to do is to keep repeating ICE AGE movie clips over and over again in AM16 module.
One I did notice, most of dialogs and beats are directional, you can also try this next time you see a BOSE system is playing, just stand directly in line of bass module and slow move left or right you notice that bass is completely directional and all dialogs are actually come from bass module which is either below or side of system rather on center of screen.

JBL 300.7/2007 - Out of both 300.7 flared excellent, but speakers are doesn't look good though design is unique. Bass module is excellent

Micra - Speakers are good and look good but lacks overall puch, I felt that if you between 4 to 6 feet in radius from speakers they are good beyond that, sound weakens

Finally HKTS-14
Speakers are excellent and sharp to look. Coming to most important sound aspect, sound reproduced is close to the way it should be. Bass module is enough power to shake a large room (BTW my room is 19'x18'). Initially I needed some tweaking with cross over to get the right match between satellites and sub. Other things I have done to fine tune is channel volume using pink noise. Once these basic steps are done, system is all set to rock. Test DVD's I used are Lord of Rings which have enough high/low/mid ranges through the movie. Finally coming to cost whole system I put together i.e receiver+DVD player+HT speakers+ wires hardly touched $800 and I am sure this system will go very long time in my living room for TV/Music/Movie entertainment...next on my list HT projector !-)Harman/Kardon customer service is excellent by all base lines. I wrote totechnical support even before I purchased the product and every time received reply from an actual person rather than automatic reply. All the replies are informative and complete and welcoming for more questions. Of late I have never experienced such a prompt service. Only companies that believe in there products can provide such service

Harman Kardon HKTS 7 6-Piece Loudspeaker System Review

(More customer reviews)Heh, no probably not...but they're still AMAZING speakers.I just got these last night from my parents for Christmas.They're an upgrade to the speakers that came with my $200 Sony HT-DDW600 home theater package that I bought for my college apartment almost 3 years ago.

Sadly, I still only have the receiver that came with said home theater package so these speakers aren't doing everything they could be.However, even with that third-rate receiver, the sound from the HKTS-7 speakers is breathtaking.These are a monumental upgrade to the old speakers...especially that massive sub (it's 19" tall).

My apartment was shaking last night while watching the NIN - Beside You in Time HD DVD.And the sub is only turned up about 2/3 of the way (it's got it's own individual level control)!But, unlike the sub that came with the HT-DDW600, this is a self-powered sub and has MUCH cleaner sound.When turning the "bass" up on the receiver past about 4 (out of 10) the woofer would thump/thud and just sound completely overworked and about to explode.The HKTS-7 sub gave deep rich bass with the receiver turned up to 6.I'm absolutely confident that with a proper receiver these speakers will truly show their power.

I'm thinking of matching them with a Harmon Kardon AVR-347.It has HDMI-in/out and, as long as you have a player that can decode them, it will handle Dolby Digital+, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD audio.Adding these speakers with a receiver that handles the high definition audio formats coming from an HD DVD player will provide the ultimate home theater experience for those that either can't afford speakers that cost $2000 each or live in a place that would likely kick them out for pushing that kind of sound around.

The HKTS-7 provides amazing sound for an unbelievable price.I could not be more pleased with these speakers.My only complaints are:
** The ends of the wires are coated in what I would assume is nickel.It's nice, but one of the wires' ends snapped off incredibly easily and then I had to try to not cut off my fingers as I stripped the wires back a bit with a knife.

** The wall brackets require #8 screws in order to be attached to the wall.These are not included.So unless you have some laying around the house somewhere, you'll be needing to make a trip to the hardware store.

Otherwise, I very much look forward to getting a new receiver and watching the Bourne trilogy HD DVDs on my Samsung HLT-6187s 61" 1080p LED DLP HDTV while thoroughly enjoying high definition sound with these speakers.

(More customer reviews)I bought these for dual purposes; to improve audibility in my home theater setup, and to allow me to listen to music through that setup without being frustrated by the typical home theater's audio quality.These are superb for both uses.They give an open, clear, balanced sound no matter where you sit.They give excellent audio detail.You hear things in the music you did not know were there.They have a 'precise' sound.My main speakers are Mirage OM-9's, they were 3K and the top of their line when I got them.These speakers with my home theater subwoofer are quite close and I don't lose much except a bit of base tightness when I move from one system to another.If you're looking for clean, detailed, precise sound, I recommend these very highly.

(More customer reviews)I made the mistake of thinking this would be a good deal, so I bought it.These speakers sound worse than my clock radio.When I tried to call and express my dissatisfaction, no one comes to the phone, and when they do, they say they'll call back and never do.I reviewed this product once before, and THEN they emailed me.They offered me $15 in credit IF I agreed to REMOVE MY REVIEW!!Clearly, they don't want anyone to know how cheap this system is.I told them I'd remove it if they gave me a refund.Never heard back from them at all.I've thrown the system away.I couldn't even justify the space they take up in my house.

..I can tell you the package was excellent packed. It came in one box however it was double packed(two boxes within). Delivered by UPS and undamaged. Thumbs up!!!!!I hooked em up to my Yamaha 365 receiver and it sounds really good, clear, crisp and very acoustic! The design is very nice in cherry finish. 150W RMS power, way more than my Yamaha outputs.

The front, center and surround speakers are ok but they will leave you wanting more but if you don't want to pay more then they are fine.The sub is scary at times it really shakes the room, I love it. Yes, surprisingly this processor has a dual purpose, that is if you are a Quadraphonic "junkie" like myself.

First, this allows one to connect their 5.1 audio connections to this.Then through its digital outputs, you connect this to a receiver/sound system for DTS surround sound.Now, you may ask why.It has come to my attention that many of the recent sound systems are geared toward HDMI and Optical/Coax inputs.If you have an older DVD player with the 5.1 connections, you can't hook it up to the newer system.This means you are forced to buy a new DVD player.Also, if you have an SACD option integrated into your DVD player, the SACD sound will not go through your HDMI or Optical/Coax connections.By using this, you can take full advantage of your audio system with both video and audio.

OK you Quad junkies, you can use this to archive your record and tape collection onto DTS-CDs and preserve that great 4.0 surround sound.You simply connect your decoder into this unit then by using either an Optical or Coax wire, you connect this into the digital inputs of a stand alone CD recorder (haven't tried it on computer yet).The recorder burns the audio onto the CD-R (haven't tried CD-RW yet).Then, all you have to do is play the CD with the player connected to a receiver/sound system equipped with DTS.With DTS enabled, your system will decode the signal on the CD into DTS 4.0 audio and deliver such through your speakers.One thing, you should consider is a speaker upgrade since a traditional surround system has the bass delivered through a subwoofer.There will be no subwoofer signal, so one should consider purchasing or transferring your 4 full frequency music speakers to your home theater system to deliver the bass you will need and want.

But as is the case with used items, their quality varies..
These particular ones are just as what they look to be. No extra accessories if you thought they were included.
it's just those two box speakers. Plus for sound input you have to use two wires for each speaker. So know what you are getiing beforehand. Am trying to return them b'se i wanted plug and play. I have two spend more time looking for connectors now.!!

These speakers sound great and the quality of the speaker cabinets is more than you`d expect at this price. These are not cheaply assembled nor do they sound cheap. The sound carries in my living room just like I was in a theater. I hooked this system up to a Yamaha A/V receiver that I bought off Ebay. The combination of all these speakers and the subwoofer and the Yamaha receiver is perfect. Like I said, the sound is theater quality and for this price you cannot go wrong. Hooking it up is very straight forward. I would definitely buy these again and I`d recommend them to anyone that is shopping for their first surround system or a replacement. The seller had these to me within just a few days after I made payment and they were well packaged also. Can`t go wrong with these !!!

(More customer reviews)The Pyle Tower with iPod player arrived on time and nicely packaged.On removal from the box it is very attractive in the Piano finish.Easy to set up but the instructions on setting the sound quality, base, treble, etc. Are not clear and it took some creative thinking to figure it out.Overall sound quality is better than desktop iPod players but disappointing for a unit this size with an 8" sub.The base is weak and treble is not crisp and sharp.Sounds like Pyle used third tier driver components.Another disappointment is that, even though the unit is marketed to be compatible with iPhone, the "non-compatible" message in the iPhone pops up each time it is docked.Also, the loud annoying iPhone interference noise is frequent if the 3G signal is weak.That seems to be better with a strong signal.Another disappointment: I emailed Pyle tech support as instructed in the manual about the interference and got no reply.I expected better but decided not to return the unit.

While I do admit that I tend to choose style over substance and the moment I laid eyes on these stunners it was love at first sight, I still had my reservations on the sound quality and the little known conpany. Luckily the seller who was selling these items new at a discounted price also provided several review sites where I could read consumer reviews and get more information about them. After several rave reviews from large review sites like envynews.com, etc, I was convinced that these techno lighting speakers were for me and felt confident in purchasing them. I do enjoy playing the occasional video game but I'm not a gamer per say, and these speakers were also supposed to perform well with music, DVD and DVD audio as well.

There are 4 color choices with these speakers. Black, Green, Blue , and Silver. The Green and Black feature green LED lights while the Blue and Silver feature Blue LED's. I chose silver.
After I bought the speakers and awaited their arrival it occurred to me that my current sound card might not be compatible with 5.1 surround, which ultimately convinced me to upgrade. I decided to go with an XITEL Pro Hifi link rather than a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 because of so many mixed reviews for it here on Amazon.

When the speakers arrived I was very happy with their appearance. The front chrome panels look more like fancy hub caps rather than the types of details you'd find on some PC speakers. The subwoofer is huge and the 5 satellites have the diameter of a CD just about. Each speaker plugs into the subwoofer va color coding and if that's not easy enough, they're also manually labled too( R,R L,R, CENTER, ETC ). Then there's the AC adapter and 4 different plugs that connect the speakers to different types of sources, such as a game console, PC, DVD player, etc.I chose to hook the speakers up to my PS2 and connect the PS2 to my PC via the Hifi link. Unfortunately that didn't work because you can't connect a PS2 to a Hifi link because it's not a receiver. Silly me for thinking otherwise. I couldn't choose to simply plug the speakers into my PC because the Hifi link bypasses the PC soundcard entirely and needs another source to amplify the sound( ohhhhh, so THAT'S why a receiver was important...)

Meanwhile, as I contemplated now having to buy a receiver( this was getting more expensive by the minute lol )I connected the speakers to the PS2 alone with a good result. I was disappointed that the LED'S on the subwoofer failed to work at all( they are supposed to ) but I decided to let it go since the subwoofer was going to be placed under my computer desk anyway and all the little satellites lit up fine. They pulsate to the beat of the music and light up brighter as the volume goes up. Thus if you listen to very soft music or don't play it very loud at all, these speakers might not light up all too well for you. There's also an LCD remote that controls the master volume as well as the volume of each individual set of speakers. I.E: I could turn up the volume on just the front left and right speakers and decrease the volume coming out of the center, and rear speakers and even control the volume coming out of the subwoofer if I wanted to. since the PS2 doesn't have 5.1 channels for all these speakers I had to use the "enhance" feature, which simulates 5.1 surround sound. But trust me, it rocked the house and I doubt you'll be able to tell the difference between simulated or sound off a true 5.1 decoder on these speakers. So fear not if you don't have any fancy equpment to hook these up to. While I wish the LED's on the Sub worked, which concerns me about the lifespan and durability of the other speakers' LED's, I was more than happy with the deep rich sound.

Two days later, I bought a new Sony STR DE597 Digital audio/Video control center which hooked up perfectly to the XITEL Pro Hifi link via optical digital cables. However, when I went back into the box to locate the particular cable that connects the speakers to the 5.1 channels on my receiver, which is supposed to be supplied, it was no where to be found.I ended up having to track down the realworld technology website and call their office for customer support. Although I had to explain my story to them a few times, they did agree to send me the cable I needed at no charge, which I am eagerly awaiting.

My goal is to eventually convert my PC into a digital entertainment center/home theater, which will inevitably lead to more $$$ being spent on memory and video card upgrades. However the bottom line for this product is this: Great sound, stunning appearance. Good value, though I'm a little unsure about the lifespan on the actual LED's. Just make sure you have a good soundcard that supports 5.1 surround sound so you don't get in over your head like I did. I will follow up this review when/if I receive the cable and let you now how these sound off of a receiver.

(More customer reviews)The HC6 5.1 speaker set put out some detailed sound and tight bass that can get low.The speakers are enclosed in a piano black casing and seem like they belong in a similarly elegant home (or mansion for that matter).The sub puts out some surprisingly powerful and low bass for its size.The system sounds just as good with music as it does with home theatre sound.The HC6 was produced when Acoustic Research was in its prime, unfortunately this set is no longer produced.If you can get yout hands on a set, you'll see that the HC6 blows away Bose and Polk systems costing twice as much.
