And at under $100 it's super, inexpensive value.
This unit is made & distributed for a big box retailer and sometimes the Insignia brand has not
produced the best products.However with this unit, Insignia has hit a home run with this
compact stereo value with a ton of features only found on more expensive units. A ***** rating.

My JBL Radial "High Performance"went straight to my kids after hearing the sound of this unit.If you want the best sound possible and love to watchMusicvideos or Podcasts from your nighttable, this is the unit to get. There is no alternative. I was lucky to get mine from amazon for 278.99 . (they keep moving the price)This is cheaper than the Bose unit and in my opinion a total no-brainer. The screen i would rate "above average"compared to the 8-9 inch range of DVD Players out there.The only thing i wish i could do is playing the music videos from my Iphone. But i assume with a firmware upgrade, Apple will eventually enable a video out.
Also onscreen Ipod Navigation would have been nice. When you play just music, it would have been nice to see the artwork on the screen. But all you see is an altec Lansing sign accross the screen. Remote works very well from a good distance. Overall this unit is very well built. Nice shiny black cabinet similar to the Playstation 3

update december 2007:There is a reason Amazon is selling this unit below 250.00. It is NOT compatible with the 6th Generation Ipod classic , Iphone and I touch, works only for the music but not for the Video.if you are the lucky owner of the 5th and 5.5 gen Ipod this unit is great, for all new ipods Apple has made this unit (the screen at least) useless as they disabled the video out.Very poor from Apple !!!

It has alot of watts, but the sound is flat and not enough power for what I wanted. For a small indoor space this product would be okay. The company I bought it from charges a 25% restocking fee if you return it so I'm stuck with it.

(More customer reviews)The Pyle Tower with iPod player arrived on time and nicely packaged.On removal from the box it is very attractive in the Piano finish.Easy to set up but the instructions on setting the sound quality, base, treble, etc. Are not clear and it took some creative thinking to figure it out.Overall sound quality is better than desktop iPod players but disappointing for a unit this size with an 8" sub.The base is weak and treble is not crisp and sharp.Sounds like Pyle used third tier driver components.Another disappointment is that, even though the unit is marketed to be compatible with iPhone, the "non-compatible" message in the iPhone pops up each time it is docked.Also, the loud annoying iPhone interference noise is frequent if the 3G signal is weak.That seems to be better with a strong signal.Another disappointment: I emailed Pyle tech support as instructed in the manual about the interference and got no reply.I expected better but decided not to return the unit.

(More customer reviews)Not being an extreme audiophile, I was slightly apprehensive about how this system would perform and if it would match up to our old multi-component system. So far so good! Plus the ability to use it as our primary DVD player is a nice added bonus.

We are using as the main stereo in our living room (medium size room in an apartment) and it is sufficient.The iPod dock works great with our "old" iPod mini. The CD/DVD function works well as does the Video Out (using old RCA composite port not component; we have an old TV), Aux in, and FM tuner.The AM tuner has not been that good- there is an audible hissing sound even with the "Talk" feature on the remote enabled (though that feature does improve it a bit). So other than the AM tuner, we have been pleased, and didn't have to spend an arm an leg as with the Bose stuff...

Finally, I have to admit the system is quite cute and cuddly while being slick. Alfie is our friend.

Samsung HT-TX72 DVD Home Theater System Review

(More customer reviews)I recently purchased this system when it's price was sub $300 and I'm glad I didn't pay any more for it.
The system kicks out a MAJOR PUNCH in the sound department, with deep bass that will rumble the room thanks to it's HUGE subwoofer. It's as big as a PC tower case and blasts!
Sadly, you have to have it blast if you want to hear anything. There are few controls for the sound levels and trying to listen as low volumes was worse audio quality than listening to the TV with it's built in speakers.
The system is either too quiet to hear anything but voices, or too loud to hear anything other than boom.
Also, when in stereo mode, the back speakers shut off. There is one option that will do stereo with them on (Matrix Mode) but it tries to separate sounds and ends up with the speakers just making some noises sometimes and is a bit disconcerting.
The upconverting DVD player looks pretty poor on a high def television. There also is no difference with upscale from 480p to 1080i, it's just as blocky. If you've not seen a better upscaler (as found in the PS3 for example) then it might look okay, albeit blocky, but if you have seen a better one you won't be able to watch DVD's on your HDTV with this without feeling as if you're missing something.
Lastly... the fan. After a while a fan inside the receiver will kick in. This thing is LOUD. That shouldn't happen on a sound system - having something that makes listening to things worse.
Overall, I'm very dissapointed in this product and suggest you look elsewhere for a home theater system. I'm considering returning this item and wished I'd read a review like this first, so I'd know to stay away.

(More customer reviews)I just purchased this system 2 days ago and let me tell you it is a BLAST! Though you have to do some tweeking to bring out the full potential of this system. I read some of the previous reviews for this system and let me tell you some of the other buyers of this system did not know how to use this system. First of all the 320 watt subwoofer is fully adustable. So you have to adjust it up to level 4 then press the heavy bass button to bring out it's full potential. Next you need to go under system quick setup, then audio, then speakers and adjust them up to 5.0 ms to bring then up to speed.

After that you need to press the surround music button which will really fill your room with awesome surround sound. And last but not least you CAN use this system as audio while watching daily tv programs as well. What you have to do is run an auxiliary cable(red and white) from the aux slot on the back of the receiver/dvd player to the aux slot on the back of your tv. Then you press the ext-in button until it says aux. And boom! You have theatre sound for your daily viewing. I can't get enough of this system. It really blew away my expectations once I finished tweaking it.After some minor tweaking this system really thumps on level 30 yet it can go all the way up to level 50. It really shines on cd's and radio.Also sounds great on dvd's as well. Good surround sound for daily viewing. Can't wait to play some xbox on it as well. So to any potential buyers breezing through this review and thinking about it getting this system I can promise you won't be dissapointed. Grab one now!

LG LHB975 1100 W Blu-ray HTIB System (Gloss Black) Review

(More customer reviews)We got this system yesterday after waiting about six weeks.We had found it when searching the LG site, and while it was "released", the LG rep I emailed said that it was just taking time for the distributors to get it to retailers. LG service was prompt and VERY helpful!

When it was finally available on Amazon, my wife and I jumped on it and had it over nighted.(BTW: Amazon Prime rocks!).

This system was everything we wanted.It was easy to put together, and the NetFlix, You Tube, and the Pandora radio were simple to get going.

The picture and sound quality were excellent and we were thrilled with every feature except one.

The rear speakers are NOT exactly wireless.

We had envisioned that three front three (right, left, and center) would plug into the blu ray receiver, and thesubwoofer and rear speakers would be completely wireless.

What we found was that the system comes with a box (about the size and weight of a Wii) called the "Wireless Speaker Router".This box can be placed anywhere in a room, as long as it has access to an electrical outlet.The box DOES wirelessly connect to the receiver AND wirelessly connect to the subwoofer.

HOWEVER, the two rear speakers have to be connected via speaker wire to this device.

We have put the wireless router in the back of our living room, thus significantly reducing the amount of wire needed for each rear speaker.If we has had to wire these rear speakers directly to the blu ray receiver, it would have taken a lot more wire.But make no mistake, the rear speakers are wired.You will have figure out how to hide the wires along open walls and across doorways.We had hoped for complete wireless.

The wireless router has pretty good range from what we've seen.It doesn't have to have an unobstructed line of site to the receiver/subwoofer or anything.So I suppose you could take it and the two speakers to another room and enjoy the internet radio or the ipod dock or the built in AM/FM radio or any other audio signal.The router and speakers are small enough to be quite portable.

So all in all, this is a five star system.Just not with completely wireless speakers.
