Just purchased it yesterday, this is our first HT experience. We are thrilled by the surround sound so far, I am in the process of testing all options, will update the review as well as star rating as I see more.
So far, the Pros are:
1) excellent surround sound
2) special Hbass for additional bass is awesome
3) plays dvds,cds,mp3s very well
4) interfaced quickly to my Philips TV, so can use the same remote for tv too. Now can watch TV shows/movies on home theater!
5) set-up with manual was quick and easy
6) aesthetically my wife loves the tower-front speakers
7) 5-disc changer is such that you can put CDs/DVDs in the unoccupied trays without interruption current CD/DVD play.

So far, the Cons are:
1) does not play mpegs
2) does not play vcds burnt with divx
3) remote has a gazillion options, will take time to master it!
4) Speaker wires which come with the HT are not great, will definitely need replacement down the line.

New addition:
Pros
1) Plays jpegs very well, it scans through your data disc and displays all jpeg files as a slideshow. Files not recognised are skipped. Using "playlist" on the remote, is like using windows explorer on the TV screen for selecting specific files.

I just purchased this system 2 days ago and let me tell you it is a BLAST! Though you have to do some tweeking to bring out the full potential of this system. I read some of the previous reviews for this system and let me tell you some of the other buyers of this system did not know how to use this system. First of all the 320 watt subwoofer is fully adustable. So you have to adjust it up to level 4 then press the heavy bass button to bring out it's full potential. Next you need to go under system quick setup, then audio, then speakers and adjust them up to 5.0 ms to bring then up to speed.

After that you need to press the surround music button which will really fill your room with awesome surround sound. And last but not least you CAN use this system as audio while watching daily tv programs as well. What you have to do is run an auxiliary cable(red and white) from the aux slot on the back of the receiver/dvd player to the aux slot on the back of your tv. Then you press the ext-in button until it says aux. And boom! You have theatre sound for your daily viewing. I can't get enough of this system. It really blew away my expectations once I finished tweaking it.After some minor tweaking this system really thumps on level 30 yet it can go all the way up to level 50. It really shines on cd's and radio. Also sounds great on dvd's as well. Good surround sound for daily viewing. Can't wait to play some xbox on it as well. So to any potential buyers breezing through this review and thinking about it getting this system I can promise you won't be dissapointed. Grab one now!

Was in the market for a home theatre system and after looking at several different brands, I settled on the Panasonic SC-PT770 system. Went with the Panasonic since I have a 56" Panasonic tv. This was very easy to set up and works great in the small area that I have it in. The sound quality is great! The sub hit's with a very nice deep thump! I love the IPod connection with the one screen display. Works very well. The wireless rear speakers work great as well. I did not have any issues or interference with my wireless network like some other folks have mentioned in their reveiw. Of course, I do agree that there was not enough speaker wire for the rear speakers. I used the sound setup mic and it seemed to dial in the speakers like it was supposed to. Thus far, I am very pleased with this system and would highly recommend it!!!

Product Description:
With Panasonic, you can choose from 3 different types of Home Theaters that match your preference and room. Panasonic SC-PT770 Overview; High Quality Sound: The SC-PT770 uses front and center Bamboo Cone Speakers and a Kelton Subwoofer for crisp, clear mid- and high-frequency ranges and powerful, deep bass. A rigid, low-density bamboo material used in the fron and center speaker's cones helps achieve a clean, responseive sound. Vocals are pure and clear and dialog is crisp and easy to understand. The Kelton Type Subwoofer has an internal structure that is divided into two completely sealed spaces. The drive unit that is mounted to the space in the back causes the air in the front space to vibrate. This causes and Acoustic Filter effect in the front space to absorb unwanted noise while also vibrating the Passive Radiators. This achieves highly robust, reverberating bass sounds. Built-in Dolby Digital and DTS Decoder renders movie-theater-like sound while Home Theater Mode produces a total ouput power of 1000W of High Clarity Sound.Easy to Use: The built-in Universal Dock for iPod gives you a great new way to enjoy music and video3. Just slip your iPod into the cradle and enjoy. The dock charges your iPod , allows you to use the home theater remote to control the iPod , has on-screen audio menus, and also plays back iPod video. The SC-PT770 includes the front to rear wireless speakers, and a High Speed 5-DVD/CD changer with Multi-format Plaback: DVD-Video, DVD-RAM, DVD-RW, DVD-R, +R, +RW, CD, CD-R/RW, Video CD, SVCD, WMA, MP3, and JPEG. Environmentally Friendly: Add to this feature set a Smart Setup mode with Auto Speaker Setup and and Energy Star compliance, Low Power consumption for Stand-by (0.1W), and you have an ideal Home Theater solution.

NOTE: I HAVE ADDED ADDENDUMS TO THIS REVIEW, MAKE SURE AND READ THE COMMENTS
A search of the internet will quickly reveal many in the audiophile community bashing "home theater in a box" (htib) systems like this, and many of their entirely valid criticisms of such systems apply to this unit, but it has a lot of redeeming qualities too that make me overall convinced that this is a good buy for anyone whose needs match what it provides. Also it is a pretty high end htib so the sound quality will exceed what many would expect.A quick word on settings: This unit comes with a number of effects such as surround enhancement and some pre set EQ settings.Don't use them.Maybe turn down the sub a bit and turn up the center channel, but your goal with movies is to ACCURATELY reproduce the sound as it was intended to be heard.Keep everything flat and you will hear how the movie was meant to sound. That's how I know this is a quality htib: It sounds good with everything flat)

This is a good system for what it is, namely a way to get both blu-ray and 5.1 surround in one convenient and affordable package. The rear speakers are wireless, as in there is a second amp that connects wirelessly to the main amp so you don't have to run cables from the front to back of the room although you do have to run cables from the second amp to the rear speakers. The rears are very light and thus easy to mount on the wall, and I don't worry about that lack of weight too much because surrounds really don't need much power as they just add effects. The fronts and center are much beefier and are two-ways with what appears to be real crossovers so that's pretty good for a home theater in a box.The subwoofer is (unfortunately) passive but its driver is bamboo so I don't think it has the paper-driver problems of other htibs. It seems to cross over at a decent point as the bass stays properly nondirectional. All in all, in my fairly small room it sounds really great for me, and it's pretty cool how it has all the latest surround decoders including Dolby trueHD and DTS HD.

All that said, this system definitely has some typical htib limitations: It has proprietary speaker connections so you can't use other wire without splicing. You can, however, use other speakers because the speakers themselves use standard connections (only the amp-end connection is proprietary). You can also expand to 7.1 sound either by another proprietary (and wireless) panasonic amp or the unit actually does have wired surround outputs so that you can plug in other amps and speakers for the front and back surrounds. However, the proprietary wire is permanently implanted in the subwoofer and naturally there's no way to get a nonamplified subwoofer signal out of this amp so even with some wire splicing ability I doubt you could add a powered sub.So you could upgrade the speakers but not the sub.But again all the included stuff sounds very good so I don't regard this as a dealbreaker.

In addition to a passive, nonupgradeable subwoofer and the inability to use your own speaker wire (although you can use your own speakers), the unit is VERY skimpy on inputs. No HDMI passthru, and only ONE toslink/SPDIF in, and one conventional component audio in.This means that, unless you get a switch or are willing to swap out, you can only use one source other than blu-ray with which there will be "true" surround sound. This is a problem for me because my TV does not allow the SPDIF out to output any audio except for the ATSC tuner (copyright issue) and I have both a cable set top box and an xbox 360 that I want to get surround sound from.Remember, if you plug standard RCA stereo plugs into this thing you will not get real surround, just pro logic type matrix encoded stuff.

All in all, this is still a good buy. These days you can get a 42 inch lcd 1080p tv for about $1000, and you can get this system for about $1000, and you'll have a complete home theater with display, sound, and blu ray player (which is a good final standard profile player which will support all special features except bd live), all for about $2000 and no hassles. As usual with htib, you will sacrifice upgradeability and connectivity for this convenience, and you will have a passive subwoofer. But trust me, this sounds very good for htib and at this pricepoint I recommend it highly for anyone who wants the modern high def home theater experience on a limited budget, because on that, it delivers. You will really enjoy watching movies on this thing and in the end, that's all that really matters.

I have been in the market to get streaming content on my TV for a while now.I compared this unit against the LG-LHB535.The LG has some added features.

1. Built in Wifi
2. Streaming software... which means you can stream from your computer.
3. HDMI inputs.

Otherwise the Panasonic works awesome. It's fast and responsive, easy to setup, small and sleek, and it's cheaper than the comparable LG unit.

It includes the following features.

1. Amazon video rentals... Awesome.. However it's $3 for most regular rentals and then more for HD.I'm still a bigger fan of RedBox $1 for anything... Amazon I might be holding out on your steep prices.

2. Netflix the same as everything else... other than the interface is really simple and ugly like the PS3 interface. It's not as easy to navigate and search like the X Box 360 or on your computer.

3. Youtube which is cool.

4. Picas pictures which is neat but almost useless in some cases.

5. iPhone/iPod doc that allows audio and video playback.Very cool, it charges and doesn't display the "this accessory is not made to work with your device" message.

6. Blue ray, DVD, burned DVD's etc.

7. Two fiber optic inputs that allow you to plug in your infamous HD DVD player or some other audio sources.Would have liked to see HDMI here... LG has it.

8. Viera Link which is cool if you have a Panasonic TV like I do.It turns the stuff on off etc by communicating over the HDMI cable.

9. The sound is AMAZING for as cheap as this unit is.The speakers are crisp and clear.Very nice surround sound.I had a Sony STR-K750P, and this Panasonic system is way better.Overall the packaging was slick with everything well packaged for shipment. I couldn't find the electronic version of the manual online anywhere. The specs say it's wireless ready, which means it has a USB port on the back that you have to pay $100 to get the $5 Panasonic WIFI dongle.Total rip off. I just hard wired.

The menus are not quite as elegant as the Apple TV, it also has this hard switch thing.. Basically if you need to adjust any settings, it unloads the web content dashboard thing, then takes you back to the DVD menu. So there is a bit of a lag making adjustments. I don't understand why they just didn't layer the menus and then reload if your settings require it.It also has some sort of quick on feature.Basically if you start it up from scratch, AKA no power supplied, it takes about 30 seconds to boot..So they added this quick boot thing which makes the unit run in some kind of a standby. It tells you it will consume slightly more power while in this mode.I did have a couple times where the web interface streaming thing had garbled text, I tried powering on off, but it doesn't fully reboot if you use the quick boot.In order to get it to fully reboot, you have to turn it off, then unplug the power and re-connect.

The manual isn't very descriptive and there is a lot of technical jargon as you wade deeper into the settings.Lots of color control, bit level, sound stuff, display stuff etc.

It does have the capability to adjust the surround and EQ levels while playing. It's not entirely intuitive, and the manual is wrong, but it works. When you use the buttons on the bottom of the remote to adjust the surround, it displays on little screen on the unit, the levels. In the manual it tells you to use up and down to adjust these.I must have wasted 20 minutes on this part before I tried left and right and then it worked. Looks like Panasonic needs an updated manual. The firmware on the unit is 1.0 which hopefully means there will be some software updates sooner than later. It would be nice to see layered settings menus, and they have some room on the dash board for new content.

The unit is so new that if you use a Logitec Harmony remote, it won't detect your unit yet.I had to use the older model Bt-300 or something to get my Logitec remote to work.

anyhow.. thats my review... Enjoy!

VIERA Cast's assorted online content just keeps getting better - in addition to the popular contents such as YouTube and Picasa Web Albums, it now offers Pandora Internet Radio, movies streamed from Netflix, exciting sports from FOX Sports, and tweeting web communications with Twitter. No PC required. By using a combination of real speakers and virtual speakers, a more natural and smoother sound can be enjoyed. You'll notice the difference, epecially in an action scene - you'll feel like you're sitting in the center of a true cinema theater. With the new bamboo cone speakers, the sound becomes much more responsive. Vocals are more pure and cleaner, and the dialog is crisper and easier to understand than ever before. The SC-BT330 is compatible with a new feature of ARC (Audio Return Channel). ARC allows receiving audio signals from the TV, on top of the preexisting HDMI function of sending audio/video signals to the TV with just one cable. This new feature will simplify the connection by eliminating an audio cable connection between the TV audio output and the main unit's audio input.

Have you ever been in a car and turned up the stereo system and the sound is just bland? weak? unexciting? disappointing? 95% of the time, it is because the speakers are small and underpowered, basically worthless.

I stumbled upon this Amazon only product soon after I purchased my Panasonic 54" plasma TV. I decided that I wanted matching hardware in my living room and Panasonic is a very reputable company in the electronics industry,so I began searching through Panasonic home theater systems on Amazon and I saw this setup with very large speakers.

I am not exactly what you would call an audiophile or audio expert but I always have a "stereo system" connected to my TV because I love to watch sports and ESPECIALLY play video games in HD. Up until this point I would simply buy a home stereo system with 2 large speakers and maybe a subwoofer, and connect it to my TV, but since moving into my new house with new furniture and TV and everything else, I decided to get a full "home theater system" with surround speakers and rear speakers and all the inputs and connections...

I have been noticing the current trend in home theater speakers where everything seems to be getting smaller. Main speakers are smaller, side and rear speakers are smaller.... and I may not be a genius, but I know that better and fuller sound comes from a bigger speaker. There is a wider range of noise made with a bigger speaker. I just wasn't confident when I see a full home theater system with five or seven 2" speakers and expect to be blown away with sound quality and power. You just arent going to convince me that bigger speakers don't matter.

That being said, this system stuck out like a sore thumb when browsing Panasonic home theater systems on Amazon. 2 large speaker cabinets, 1000 watts, and a 10" subwoofer and 3 surround speakers, and at the time it was like $270 or something!! There was no question in my mind that this would be my best bet.

I ordered it the week before Thanksgiving, and it came in the week after Thanksgiving. First thing I did was take it home and hook it up. Speaker connections are very simple, I Was impressed. No more threading the litle wirtes into the mouth that bites down on them, just a plastic plug. I was disappointed in the lack of INPUT slots in the back. There is an HDMI out, HD component out, and then only like a digital audio input. I am used to being able to hook everything I wanted to up to the stereo system if I need to. This time I was limited by the connections so my entire system is surviving on the Digital Audio Output from my TV to the Digital Audio Input on the stereo system. This means that I have to have everything running through the TV, and then to the stereo system on that one wire.

Which actually is fine. It works fine. Sounds great. I just like a few different options, but then again, I havent made electronics purchases within about the last 4 years so maybe things have changed. And I never had any experience with this little tiny digital audio wire but it apparently works great.

Sound quality is great, VERY powerful system, I am so happy I found this system instead of buying some of the other systems with entirely small speakers, and end up regretting the purchase and hating the sound quality. I play games with lots of action and explosions, gunfire, etc, and with this system you can really appreciate and feel the depth of the sound and hard hitting, higher powered larger speakers and subwoofer.

I have heard my sub run out of power on one occasion (last Saturday night) when I had been drunk and had some friends over to impress and turned the sound up so loud, and the sub woofer to the highest setting, and also the subwoofer boost option. Due to my state of mind at the time, I cannot say for sure what the weakest link was, but I will say that one of the first things that stood out to me when installing the system is that the subwoofer should have its own AC cord to the wall. Maybe there is some way to modify this part myself, but that is something for a different day. The sub is just so big, and when you see this tiny little wire that is supposedly powering it, it stands out as a visible weak link.

However, even under heavy and above average usage on video games and programs and movies, this system's performance is superior to any other that I have heard from the same price range. And only under the most extreme, alcohol induced circumstances, have I heard a flaw in the audio system, and that was only involving the subwoofer itself.

I cannot reccomend a large speaker stereo system enough, and with the price on this setup, it is a no brainer. For an average or beginner, even experienced user in audio, you will not find a more impressive system for the price, and it is ONLY ON AMAZON for some reason. If you have a Panasonic TV, it makes this purchase even more of a no brainer because they are made to work so well together.

The only way you could be disappointed in this is if you expected a blu-ray player and didn't read the product description. I plan on getting a PS3 one day and don't plan on rebuilding my entire DVD collection over to blu-ray any time soon so blu-ray wasnt an issue with me. Plus movies like on Netflix are starting to stream movies to game systems in HD, no blu-ray player required, no wait required, just download and watch before the download is even finished...

But if you have half a brain, you will not at all be disappointed in this system, and the biggest problem you will have with it is deciding what furniture or speaker stands to mount or set your two large speakers on. Maybe they fit on your TV stand or entertainment center, but if you have a 50" or larger TV, you are going to have a seperate task of setting the large speakers in tandem with your television becuase they dont come with the prissy little stands for all 2" of speaker glory like the other stereo systems you may be inclined to buy.

Panasonic SC-BT200 1000W 7.1 Channel Blu-ray Disc Home Theater Sound System Review

Panasonic SC-BT200 1000W 7.1 Channel Blu-ray Disc Home Theater Sound System
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
It's a crying shame that many people who plunk down their hard earned cash on a flat panel HDTV never bother to add a high quality sound system, or even attach a true high definition 1080i or 1080p source. Some are put off by the added expense, some by the complexity of setting it all up.Panasonic's SC-BT200 Blu-ray Home Theater system addresses all of these issues: it's inexpensive, easy to set up and offers full 1080p high definition Blu-ray playback with matching high definition surround sound. And I didn't even mention the integrated iPod dock or IPTV features!(OK, I did now).

This year's crop of Blu-ray HTiB (home theater in a box) systems from Panasonic, the SC-BT200 and its big brother the SC-BT300 have made big improvements over last year's more basic models, while lowering the cost of admission. The SC-BT200 under review here supports BD-Live (BD-ROM Profile 2.0), and offers excellent DVD upconversion as well as sweet sweet 1080p Blu-ray playback. If you like to get your content online, the built-in VIERA Cast feature allows you to view streaming videos from YouTube or Amazon, online photo albums from Picasa, stock quotes and local weather info. Also, almost unheard of at this price point, the BT200 and BT300 include on-board decoding of all the latest "HD" surround sound codecs, including multi-channel PCM, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD High Resolution Audio and DTS-HD Master Audio.

And unlike similar systems from Samsung and others, the BT200 and BT300 come with 7.1 channels right out of the box for the most immersive surround experience. We were surprised how good these little speakers and their matching subwoofer sounded, considering how small they are.And in case set-up and calibration seems like too daunting a task, both systems come with color-coded speaker wires of varying length (10 feet for the fronts, 26 feet for the sides, 40 feet for the rears) to make it as easy as possible to connect all the speakers.and once they are all plugged in, you can use the included microphone and auto-calibration software to set all the speaker levels and delays automatically (it's like having a geeky friend come over with his sound meter, but without having to share your beer and pizza with him as payment).

As far as connections go, this really isn't an "A/V receiver," in fact the unit's receiver doesn't have any video inputs other than the integrated iPod dock. But if you have a Wii, PS3, XBox or HD cable or satellite box you can connect the video outputs of these to your TV directly and use one of the BT200's two analog or digital inputs for the sound. This means you can get true 5.1 or 7.1 channel surround sound from your cable, satellite or over the air HD tuners, in addition to the built in CD/DVD/Blu-ray Disc player.

If you like to carry your music and iTunes videos around with you on an iPod, you'll love the integrated iPod dock which pops right out of the center of the BT200 or BT300's faceplate. While you're listening to your iTunes or watching iTunes videos on your big screen (and controlling all the action with the BT200's remote), your iPod is replenishing its internal battery with the built-in charger. As far as iPod compatibility, the BT200 will work with pretty much any iPod other than the shuffle with its non-standard pin outs. The iPhone is not officially certified, but if you put it in "airplane" mode, it will work fine with the BT200.

The system does have some limitations: there's only so loud and so deep you can get with a sub-$500 system, and some of the video processing (including noise reduction) is weaker than in Panasonic's standalone Blu-ray players. But for its price, the BT200 offers an impressive mix of performance, features and convenience.Highly recommended!

BTW, if you want something with a little more power, the SC-BT300 offers slightly higher power output, and larger, more powerful speakers for the front left, right and center channels.

A complete review of the SC-BT200 is available on Big Picture Big Sound (dot com).

Product Description:
HDTV is easy. Home-Theater sound systems used to be hard but Panasonic has made it easier than pie (ready-made pie). Blu-ray extends beyond HDTV in sound. HDTV has 5.1-channel ability but Blu-Ray offers 7.1 channels. The SC-BT200 boasts seven speakers to envelop viewers in a remarkably true-to-life surround sound experience. The front and center channel speakers are made with a bamboo diaphragm which provides a tightly intertwined fiber to deliver greater rigidity and accuracy, resulting in clear reproduction of sounds over a wide frequency range, from massive explosions to metallic clangs. The subwoofer features a Kelton system with a dual diameter structure to deliver a deep powerful bass. The Smart Set-up guide uses the help of GUI navigation to allow users to set up their SC-BT200 home-theater system for optimum performance. First off, this system can get L-O-U-D!It will be perfect in a standard household/apt and I would even say it could fill up a large living room with ease. I don't even have the sub turned all the way up in fear of getting a noise complaint. That's a good thing.

The system offers a lot of dynamic sound settings. Here are some of a few:
HEAVY - added bass/good clarity
CLEAR - More Treble/less bass
FLAT - All levels straight across
SOFT - More subdued/less treble/a little bit of added bass

The system also has a couple of Easter eggs that I was not expecting. There is a nice feature of being able to "re-master" the sound of any Blu-Ray/DVD to give it the user more control over the specific sound they want to hear.Additionally, one can manipulate the visual aspect to create a more refined picture.

The down side is that the system offers a limited amount of inputs, but in its defense, it is not a standalone receiver. The good thing is that it offers two optical inputs which can easily accommodate your XBOX/PS3/Wii and you Cable/Satellite TV receiver.

There is a nice smart setup feature which calibrates your sound from a specific device. In my opinion it worked quite well and the levels were automatically adjusted.

Extra features include the IPOD adaptor which has been done well and easily allows the user to access the IPODs songs/playlists etc. There is also a SD card which can play pictures/video files. The speakers are wireless capable.

Ultimately, I am a stickler for being able to manipulate every aspect of the sound/video to make my experience the best it can be.This system does not offer every little nuance, but for the money it comes pretty darn close with a lot of extra features. Most importantly, I have been quite impressed with the sound and visual clarity of the system and have been quite pleased with the purchase.Give it a look!!

Product Description:
HDTV is easy. Home-Theater sound systems used to be hard but Panasonic has made it easier than pie (ready-made pie). Blu-ray extends beyond HDTV in sound. HDTV has 5.1 channel ability but Blu-Ray offers 7.1 channels. The SC-BT300 boasts seven speakers to envelop viewers in a remarkably true-to-life surround sound experience. The Smart Set-up guide uses the help of GUI navigation to allow users to set up their SC-BT300 home-theater system for optimum performance. Panasonic SC-BT730 Blu-ray DiscTM 5.1 Home Theater System Review

Panasonic SC-BT730 Blu-ray DiscTM 5.1 Home Theater System
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is my first blu-ray all in one home theater system. Before this i have used to Denon 2310 with Mirage Nanostat speakers.

Since wanted to buy a blu-ray and a simple wireless (primary factor for me) home theater system i went with this after reading very few review at that time.

You be the judge before you buy it after reading this review.

The things i liked:
-------------------

#1 - Wireless speaker.
Being staying at a rental house and changing my residence every year had forced me to look for wireless and it was right out of the box in this one.

#2 - Good customer support
After i hooked up all teh speakers, i did not get any sound from my wireless unit. Called the customer service. The great thing was, he knew what i was asking about and he helped me to trouble shoot and finally fixed the problem. Looks like there is a sequence to boot up the blu-ray player and wireless which i did not follow. That was easy.

#3 - You tube
Work liked a charm. No buffering issues. It was real good. (Not sure whether i can connect a keyboard in anyway to make the typing faster....any ideas????)

#4 - iPod dock
Another primary deciding factor for me.

#5 - ARC
Works well with my TV (Sharp 46LE810UN). As soon as i turn on the home theater, audio shuts off in the TV and comes from home theater (Though i like my TV audio much better when watching talk shows)

#6 - All in one remote

The things i did not like:
--------------------------
#1 - Wires all over:
There are no video pass through. Though i knew this earlier i thought it would be okay. But, this made me to run wires btn many systems. From cable box to TV, then from TV Audio out to Home theater. Wii is connected directly to the TV. iPod video cables to TV.

#2 - Lip sync issue with iPod (video)
If you play iPod video, you will NOT get the output in HDMI cable. You will have to use separate video cable for that. Another set of wires.

So, i connected the iPod through composite video and now what? The audio and video is out of sync (lip sync) issue.

#3 - Not enough power output:
I seriously doubt whether this is a 1000W system. The mirage nanastat is around 600w and it sounds way better than what Panasonic. Again, i do not want to compare apples with oranges. Cost may be the deciding factor inthis case ($1,200 vs $500)

#4 Poor FM:
Very weak FM output. You will have to find a good spot to keep the FM antenna (just a wire) in order to get a very normal reception. I covered every sq. inch to get a good audio signal but i never got good reception.

#5 Simulated sound not from all speakers:
It is mentioned that we will get simulated sound when 2 channel audio inputs is given. But, for some reason my center speaker (which i consider as critical) did not get any sound at all. That was a strange one.

#6 Wireless speakers
Again, the quality of the sound is good. But, definitly not enough if you have a bigger room.

#7 Proprietary speaker wire
If you have already wired your house, you will have to think again before you buy this. This unit uses proprietary speaker wire and connections. Though the length of the wires are enough for my home with currect setup, this is a serious restriction if i want to use it at bigger houses.
Other nice to haves:
#1 - Blutooth receiver - If there is a option to sync any blu tooth device with receiver, it would have been nice.

#2 - Shutting off wireless speaker using remote - I am really not sure whether this is a missing option or i did not explore it yet. I am 99% positive that we cannot shut off the wireless unit with remote. Which mean, if you really conscious about wasting power, you need to add this into your check list before you go to bed.

Other concerns:
If for some reason the wireless unit is not working (one day it is going to happen), then you have no way to use the rear speakers with wires directly running to the home theater.

I ordered this Panasonic home theater system on a Thursday and received it the following Monday. Let me tell you, when the UPS guy delivered this, it was hooked up in under 30 min. Nice, clear, booming sound, an i-pod dock and a 5-disc DVD changer that converts standard movies to 1080p- Incredible!! The picture quality(viewed on a 42-in flat screen) along with crisp sound and great price(thanks Amazon!)is all you could ever ask for in a home theater system. The only knock that I have with this system is that there are a bunch of wires that crisscross everywhere but it's not that big a deal. I highly recommend this product.

Product Description:
Panasonic SC-PT670 Overview; High Quality Sound: The SC-PT670 uses front and center Bamboo Cone Speakers for crisp, clear mid- and high-frequency ranges and powerful, deep bass. A rigid, low-density bamboo material used in the front and center speaker's cones helps achieve a clean, responsive sound. Vocals are pure and clear and dialog is crisp and easy to understand. The Kelton Type Subwoofer has an internal structure that is divided into two completely sealed spaces. The drive unit that is mounted to the space in the back causes the air in the front space to vibrate. This causes an Acoustic Filter effect in the front space to absorb unwanted noise while also vibrating the Passive Radiators. This achieves highly robust, reverberating bass sounds. Built-in Dolby Digital and DTS Decoder renders movie-theater-like sound while Home Theater Mode produces a total output power of 1000W of High Clarity Sound. Easy to Use: The built-in Universal Dock for iPod gives you a great new way to enjoy music and video3. Just slip your iPod into the cradle and enjoy. The dock charges your iPod , allows you to use the home theater remote to control the iPod , has on-screen audio menus, and also plays back iPod video. The SC-PT670 includes a High Speed 5-DVD/CD changer with Multi-format Playback: DVD-Video, DVD-RAM, DVD-RW, DVD-R, +R, +RW, CD, CD-R/RW, Video CD, SVCD, WMA, MP3, and JPEG.
