(More customer reviews)These mounts work great if used properly.I used them to mount front and rear surround Definitive Pro Cinema speakers weighing 3lbs each.If you plan on mounting bookshelf or other speakers that weigh over 6 lbs I would choose a different style mount.The mounts were easy to install offer unlimited directional positioning of speakers and are attractive.The only complaint I have is with the dry wall anchors that come with the mounts.Go to Lowes or Home Depot and purchase four #8 Wall Driller nylon anchors ($1.50) to use on the top screw hole. Use the screws that come with the mounts. The anchors that come with the mounts work fine for the bottom screws. All they do is keep mounts from moving sideways. If the anchors had not been a problem I would rate the mounts 5 star.

(More customer reviews)I needed to hang 2 different size speakers for my system (onkyo sr800). The small speaker only weighed 2.5lbs and I did not doubt that it would work fine. The bigger speakers weigh 8.5lbs and are big in size (6-3/16" x 17-1/16" x 7-5/8"). Since the speakers are tall and up high on the wall, I needed to be able to downtilt the speakers a lot. The keyhole mount is at the top of the speaker, so the more you want to downtilt the more you have to get the top of the speaker away from the wall. I was afraid that using the large speaker mount extension would start to bend with the weight of the speakers.
No Problem at all!! The smaller rear speakers are not using the extra extension peice but have enough downtilt to get them pointed where its needed. The larger front speakers are using the full extension and they are very stable. Mounts were super easy to install, customize and configure for the desired downtilts.
For $40 delivered, you wont find a less expensive 5-pack mounts with this quality. My only regret is that I have a 7.1 system with the center chan over the TV, so I have 6 speakers tha that need this mount. I need 1 more mount but buying a single is almost as expensive as buying the 5-pack :(

Before I purchased, I called Sanus to talk about the 8 lbs max rating for these mounts versus the 8.5 lbs for my speakers. The Sanus tech said that I would not be a problem since the mounts are tested 3-4 times that weight...He assured me it would not be a prob. Very helpful and I was able to get through to the cust service very quickly.

(More customer reviews)I bought the Axis AV black 6-pack and am using the mounts for ~3 lb satellite speakers. The kit comes with: 12 mounting plates, 6 (2.375)" straight extensions, 6 adjustable elbows, 6 adapter posts, allen wrench, plastic anchors, and an assortment of short and long screws (wood and machine) and plastic washers. Kit is made in China.

The instructions show how to connect brackets to threaded mounts, keyholes and two-hole speaker plates. Pieces are of a durable "fiber resin reinforced polymer" and seem to be of suffiently good quality. When screwed in place, the mounts hold stable with only a slight bounce when wiggled. I suspect with speakers upwards of 8 lbs there would be some sag over time, but the mounts are adjustable with set screws.

What would be nice to have with the kit is a short collar piece for close-to-wall mounting. Also, there is no mount hole cover so the screws (and some of the drywall molly) is slightly visible.

I had to hollow out the adapter post for the threaded mount on my speakers which have a slight rim around them. Using a countersink bit and a utility knife this was a fairly easy job. Would have been nice if the adapter had a deeper throat.

The basic drywall mollies provided are a nice gesture but don't work well as they twist in the drywall and don't allow a tight fit. Instead I used "E-Z Ancor tap-n-lock" ([...]) from Ace Hardware which worked very well.

(More customer reviews)Don't let the price fool you.Very good, sturdy brackets with enough hardware to fit most brands/wall mounts I would assume.They are holding up my Onkyo on both a wall and on the side of my entertainment unit.
I highly recommend them.

EDIT- 1 month later and I am not as pleased.Still not bad but I have had to losen/straighten speakers out.I would drop down to 4 stars at this point.
