If they retailed a bit cheaper that would help, but if you want a awesome surround and money isn't a show stopped go get them...

(More customer reviews)It's not perfect, but it's darn good. I bought 2 for my living room, which is 12x18, and it rocks pretty hard. I built a "false" wall to house these, a left and right in-wall speaker and a center channel, as well as to hide the wires to my TV which is wall mounted. My only regret is not doing enough to make the framing sturdier because these puppies shake the wall. They're great. I'm sure it's the nature of the enclosure (I'm not a sound engineer or anything), but the response isn't even... and they're not as crisp as I'd like, but they are great and I'm glad I bought them. I use the Polk SWA500 to power them and it does great. In fact, I have to turn it to about 2/3 when I watch movies because it's just too much.

The Wood Technology SC-2 In-wall Sound Chambers seem to make the sound in the room where the speakers are slightly richer, and the sound in the room adjacent to the speakers a little more muffled.Not a complicated product.List price is about $50.00 - I paid about $20.00 - Seems overpriced for what they are.

(More customer reviews)I bought 5 of these for my home theater system and I'm reasonably satisfied with them. If you turn off the high-frequency enhancer on the front of the speaker, they're a much flatter speaker, which is good.My one complaint is that they seem to drop off around 200Hz, which leaves an annoying hole in the sound between the bottom range of these speakers and the top range of where your subwoofer kicks in. I guess that's pretty common amongst consumer level speaker systems in general. Bose systems are way worse in this regard, which seem to have the entire midrange scooped out. Still, if you can get past this and supplement with a high quality sub with your crossover point set to the top of the capable range, it should sound pretty rich.

I'm a professional movie mixer and I work daily on speaker systems that cost more than a nice house, so I have high standards, but for a modest, low-profile home theater setup these sound pretty good.

BIC America M-60 6 1/2" 2-Way In-Wall Speakers Review

(More customer reviews)These BIC M-60 in-wall speakers sound great, nice clarity and imaging. I do recommend building Back boxes from 3/4" MDF board (36" x 14" x 3.5") and filling them with fiberglass insulation, or acoustic damping material to extend the Bass range downward. This of course is easier to do in new construction. I highly recommend these speakers. Fantastic value for a very reasonable price.

The quality of the sound is fantastic and you can clearly hear the dialogue or your show or movie.I used this speaker with the Polk Audio RC85i 2-Way In-Wall Speakers with a Denon Sub-Woofer and I have sound that seems a good as a theater.

The speaker is big, but it still fit between the studs with room to spare.Installation was simple but a little cumbersome.Unlike the polk speaker you can't just pull off the grill and turn the screws to lock it all in place.This one you have to take the mounting frame off the speaker and put that in the wall, then you can put the speaker up.The wire connections are top of the line, but they are a little difficult to get the wires into them when you are holding up the speaker with one hand and trying to thread the wires and push the holding pins with the other.

(More customer reviews)This must be part of some marketer's plan - and (sad to say) it succeeded: We thought the price was for a pair, and after having heard them at a B&M store had definitely settled on them as part of our upgrade to the (formerly) stereo system we were busy moving out of the 80's. Ordered what we thought was 1 pair, got 1 speaker, thought about it, decided we still wanted them (at the expense of putting off / potentially canceling more of the upgrade) and ordered another 1 speaker.
We definitely love the sound (these augment some Klipsch Forte speakers we've had for years, and also love). We've learned not to assume - if it doesn't say "pair" it probably isn't.

We looked everywhere and could not find a better speaker than Polk for the size restraints we had. The sound is excellent, installation easy and we painted the cover of the speaker to match our wall with no problem - just make sure to spray and not use a brush! If you are thinking of using this speaker for music listening only I would suggest you shop around, we chose Polk because the sound is sharp and clear and excellent for our surround sound system that we use primarily for TV and movies.

(More customer reviews)these came suggested to me by a friend who installs them in many new construction condos that have inwall audio.They have excellent sound for the money, and were very easy to install.would recommend for the budget minded audiophile looking for a good ceiling speaker.I had originally purchased the Bose in wall speakers, and returned them for these, and am happy that i did.They produce some pretty deep base for the size of speaker, turning the ceiling into a bass chamber.most importantly though, the highs are crisp.these work well simply as surround speakers, or as a second main channel (channel B), as they enrichen and help fill the room with ambient sound.I mated them with Klipsch towers and a denon receiver.

I found them via packaging contained with a set "builders grade" speakers installed in my house that sounded good.MTX is there upscale line that delivers a quality of sound on par with the Speakercraft speakers I have in another room.MTX appears to popular with the automobile after market speackers and doesn't appear in the audio sound rooms in my area.This was a good find for my whole house audior system.

(More customer reviews)I purchased these speakers because of the price. The least expensive name brand speaker with an angled speaker cone I could find was $250 each. I wasn't thrilled with the idea of spending $1000 for what I was calling a basic home theater system.

The speaker locations were pre-wired, so I didn't have to deal with fishing wire. The included instructions and overall installation process was very simple, albeit a bit messy (drywall dust). Once installed I was impressed with the overall sound quality. I'm no audiophile, but I do appreciate quality speakers and while the sound of these speakers is adequate, it's not awe-inspiring either...but for the price you can't beat them! I played two DVDs and overall, they represent a wide range of sounds very well. I was never distracted by the sound quality in a negative way.

So given the ease of install, the adequate sound and the price...these are clearly a great choice if you want a basic ceiling speaker.
