Over the years I've used several different speakers the size of the Polk Audio RM6751, but none equal in caliber.

You will be amazed by the sound these produce. The highs are bright and crisp and the mids come through clearly and cleanly; even the lows have a full, rich sound to them.Over all it's a neat little multi-use speaker.

Suggested use would be as rear surround speakers, for use as a bedroom or apartment speaker or any place where you want a lot of sound in a little space. From the rotor blades of the helicopter coming in behind you in your favorite movie to the pluck of a guitar string resonating in a full, rich sound, these speakers do it and do it well.As I write this review I am listening to a Bartók piece and am enjoying therich tonality of the piano, heard cleanly from bass to treble.

Now don't kid yourself; if you think you are getting the sound of a full floor speaker with tweeters, mids and 10" woofers, think again. If, on the other hand, you want a speaker capable of handling some decent wattage, minimal distortion and good sound all in a small package then you've found your speaker. These handle the volume quite well (100 watts max) and they do a very nice job delivering the mids and highs without blurring. The bass comes through without issue but, not surprisingly, also without punch.

Whether listening to piano concertos or watching your favorite movie, the Polk Audio RM6751 may just well suit your needs.

NOTE:While the bass isn't bad on these I would absolutely recommend the use of a sub-woofer Polk Audio PSW10 if you are using them as primary speakers for a small media room or otherwise want to bring in a more full, rich bass tone. After all, when those explosions start going off you will want more umph! than these can provide.

Product Description:
The Polk RM6751 satellite speaker accommodates listeners who want to add a channel or two to their existing 5.1-channel surround sound speaker system. Specifically designed for Polk's RM6750 setup--which itself comes with four satellites, a center speaker, and a subwoofer--the satellite helps fill out the rear effects, creating a true top-of-the-line home theater compatible with the latest surround encoding formats. Each RM6751 speaker is equipped with a 3.25-inch polymer composite cone midrange driver that's lightweight and efficient, along with a high-performance 0.5-inch silk dome tweeter. Combined, the drivers create a clear, distortion-free midrange and smooth highs.
The speaker also employs the same PowerPort bass venttechnology used in Polk's line of full-sized speakers, thus improving the lower midrange response. The result is a midrange with no "hole" between the satellite and the sub frequencies, helping male vocals sound rich and full rather than thin and weak (as with most other sub/sat systems). Meanwhile, the satellite's integrated baffle and grille design allows for maximum sound dispersion and minimum diffraction, letting everyone in the room hear the same clear, well-balanced audio.
The speaker is housed within a mineral-filled, non-resonant, white-finished polypropylene enclosure that not only sounds natural, but also looks great. To top it off, the speaker includes an integrated keyhole slot-mounting bracket for effortless wall mounting. And because the speaker is magnetically shielded, you can locate the speaker near the TV without suffering from video interference. The speaker measures 4.06 by 6.5 by 5 inches (W x H x D) and is backed by a five-year warranty.
