(More customer reviews)This product is a wall plate with 5 pairs of banana plug binding posts for use in a 5 speaker set up. They are screw in gold plated binding posts with red and black marker rings to distinguish the hot wire in each pair of posts. They take both banana plugs and bare wire (by wrapping the bare wire around an unscrewed post and then screwing it down firmly. Very well made and looks great on our home theatre wall. Make sure to remember to also buy a wall plate mounting bracket if you're installing this in drywall.

(More customer reviews)1. Since this is a 1-gang wall plate for 5 speaker connections, I expected the speaker posts to be crowded and they are. It was hard to connect 14 Gauge speaker wires to the couplers behind the wall because one needs small fingers to do so :-)However, I managed to do so taking about 30 minutes to strip speaker wires and connect them to the posts (sideways and not through the top).

2. For the front, I used banana plugs (since trying to tighten or loosen the front connections can undo the back connections accidentally).

The finish is good and connections are good. Since the wall plate sticks out about 1/4" from the wall and some difficulty in connecting wires, it gets 4 stars and not 5 stars. I'd use this again and also recommend to others.

(More customer reviews)This is a great wall plate and feels quite sturdy. It comes in two pieces -- an inner plate with all of the terminals and then the outer plate that looks like your standard wall plate. The only thing that confused me was that it included two sets of screws (one set of small screws and one set of long screws). It took me a few minutes to figure out, as there are no directions included. You use the long screws to attach the inner plate to your 2-gang box, then the small screws attach the outer plate to the inner plate.
